
HC to wrestling federation: ‘Decide on appeal against dissolution of Pawar-led Maharashtra Wrestling Association committee’
The Bombay High Court on Wednesday directed the Maharashtra State Wrestling Association (MSWA) to file an appeal before the President of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) challenging “sudden dissolution” of MSWA’s elected executive committee led by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar. The WFI, in its response to MSWA’s plea, stated that the Maharashtra Association can exercise the option of remedy of appeal before the president of WFI.
The court noted that the MSWA will have to file an appeal within 10 days and that the appellate authority will decide the same within 30 days thereafter.
Moreover, the counsel representing WFI said that it will continue its earlier undertaking that it will not declare election results for the new committee and the same will be maintained till a period of 10 days after the appeal is disposed of.
